Meet my sisters! (by Luna)

On the weekend, Mum went away. She was gone the whole two days! We went to the beach with Dad so we didn't miss her too much. When she got back, she showed us lots and lots of photos that she took at a Great Dane show that she went to in a far off place called Sydney!

Since I was actually originally from Sydney, there were two of my sisters there being shown!!

This is Libby. She lives with a Great Dane breeder called Manningdanes.

This is her being shown by her Dad.

This is my other sister Lacey. She is owned and shown by a little boy! Isn't she pretty?

Img_3996

So do you reckon my sisters look much like me? I would love to meet them one day!

Oh! And I had to get Mum to put in a photo of Libby's super hot live-in boyfriend Phantom. He's a few weeks old than us and he's huge! Very handsome, I hope I have a boyfriend like him one day!

When we get hot...

... our tongues hang out all crazy-like ...

Img_3425_2 Img_3426_2

And we drink lots and lots of water - straight out of the tap!

Battle for the V can

Mum and Dad drink a lot of these drinks that come in a green can. They buy them in big slabs and drink one or two per day! I think they are addicted.

Sometimes they let us have them to play with after they've finished. We like to grab them and run around with them for a bit then leave them lying around for Mum and Dad to pick up!

Anyway here's us trying to grab a can off Mum while she was taking photos:

Excuse me, we were sleeping

Luna and I were having a nice little nap on the couch tonight...

Img_3302

When we were rudely interrupted by Mum. I was having such a nice dream and she woke me up with a jolt!

Img_3297

Muuummm!!!

Img_3298

Anyway turns out I got to keep sleeping while Luna went and had to do stand practice. Hehe it's good being a normal non-show dog sometimes.

Img_3312

Well, I DID think that, until I realised Luna was getting treats! I thought I better go and investigate.. can you spot me?

Img_3306

Luna actually did pretty good with her stand practice tonight. She's 7 months old now and getting bigger!

Her bum is still much taller than her front end though - hehe I tease her about that all the time. I'm sure she will even out one day though! Us Great Danes can look a bit funny when we are growing cos we grow so quickly, but at least we turn out alright in the end!

Img_3320

(Oh and by the way - I got treats too after Luna had finished practicing - yay!)

At the 'Spectacular Petacular'

This weekend, Mum had a stall for her puppy photos at a big pet expo up in the place called Brisbane. Dad and us stayed around home for most of the weekend and did fun stuff like go to the beach, but he brought us up to make an appearance at Mum's stall both days.

So here we are, making our star appearance! We were a big drawcard for Mum's stall, lots of people came over and said hello to us. We were such good girls laying down nicely!

We won stuff!

Today a big box came in the mail. Mum was really excited cos she knew what it was! She entered one of her photos in a competition in a magazine a while back won a prize for us!

Mum let us play with the box first. We love boxes!

Img_3216

We ripped it into little bits and played tug-o-war, our favourite box game.

Img_3239

Then it was time to go inside and look at what we won!

Img_3251

WOW check it out! All kinds of yummy treats just for us!

Img_3258

Mum made us lie down and pose with our prize, but Luna didn't want to lie down properly so she looks a bit weird. I was ashamed of her poor lying down effort so I tried to hide...

Img_3272

Mum moved us around a bit - much better! Oh and we got to sample the treats after this. They were so yum! Thanks for winning Mum!

Grandpa's Place II - Beating up Kaya (by Luna)

Hi it's me Luna again! Kaya let me have another post - wow how lucky am I. Kaya posted last about our visit to Grandpa's place. She missed out the best part though, our awesome play fight that we had in the long grass. I know why though, it's cos I beat her! Muhahaha...

Anyways it started off when we found the long green grass in the paddock. I saw Kaya stalking me out of the corner of my eye...

Img_2998

She lunged! I ran away!

Img_3002

Face first into the long green grass.

Img_3003

But then I turned around and got Kaya a beauty!

Img_3010

Threw her into the grass...

Img_3012

But she got away! I chased her!

Img_3019

She's still a bit faster than me, cos she's bigger, but I gave it my best...

Img_3020

She got ahead of me...

Img_3021

Round and round we went!

Img_3024

We ran so fast...

Img_3035

Img_3036

But I finally caught up with her!

Img_3031

And jumped on her...

Img_3027

Uh oh! She got me this time!

Img_3139

But I recovered and jumped on her again! I won, I won!

Img_3169

I'm so good at play fighting with Kaya. We have lots of fun together, running and playing and exploring.

Img_3172

I might give her a hard time, but I really do love my big sister Kaya!

Grandpa's Place

We went for a big drive today up to see Dad's Dad and his family at their place in the country. It's an interesting place to visit, he has lots of 'stuff'! Sometimes called 'junk', but apparently it's all useful 'stuff'. Depends you who ask. Anyway, I like it cos there is lots to smell and investigate!

Img_2927

We were looking around and then noticed that Mum had gone missing! I looked everywhere and finally found her in an old caravan.

Img_2823

She had found something very interesting! They were tiny little mewling things in a box. Kind of like little baby puppies but different...

Img_2949

Mum called them 'kittens'. They were so little and helpless looking!

Img_2828

We were a bit concerned about them, but Mum said that their mummy would be back soon and we should leave them be. So we went off exploring again!

Img_2971

Mum called us back though cos there was a big cow in the paddock she didn't want me to say hello to. I like cows, but they don't like me much. I'm not sure why.

Img_2967

We went and had a look in the other paddock instead. It was kind of dry and barren, Mum and Dad said it was because they'd taken all the 'topsoil' off for the new 'housing estate' close by. Not sure what all the means, but I think it's something to do with all the houses I could see close by. I don't think they were there last time we visited!

Img_2938

We liked running around in the paddocks! So much space and so much to smell and look at!

Img_2981

I don't really understand why Grandpa has so much stuff. But I really like it! It's such an interesting place, I like visiting Grandpa!

We're Famous!

Mum finally got around to taking a photo of the article in the newspaper that was about us. Yay!

Img_4901

Mum reckons they quoted her wrong but that's ok, it makes me out to be normal and Luna out to be a bit of a weirdo. Just like real life! What's wrong with that! Muhahah...

Oh and you might ask about the big red love hearts we were wearing? Well, the photos was supposed to be published on Valentines Day, but they stuffed up and did it one week too late. I'm not quite sure what Valentines Day is anyway - I think it's supposed to be about huggles and kisses and stuffs but what do hearts have to do with it? I love to eat them? Is that the connection? I'm confused...

A Visit from Spot

We had a visitor today! His name is Spot and he is a little white doggy with a big black spot on his back. His people didn't have much trouble naming him, obviously! Spot belongs to one of Mum's friends who often has to go away for a few days for work. This time, Spot came to visit us and stay the night!

Spot was pretty chilled out, just like me and Luna I guess. He even had a cuddle with Luna on the couch!

Img_2069

I'm not sure Luna was too impressed, but she made him feel welcome all the same...

Img_2064

Then we went outside to play. Mum and Dad call Spot 'such a boy' - which I guess refers to him running around peeing on everything in sight as soon as he goes outside.

Img_2074

Luna thought it was a bit weird, so kept an eye on him. And an ear out for other stuff that was going on. She's a bit multi-talented, our Luna.

Img_2072

Spot even did a bit of posing for Mum:

Img_2088 Img_2086

Img_2242 Img_2107

Mum decided she may as well turn our front yard play session into a bit of a photo session instead, so she gave us some modelling instructions. We all listened:

Img_2365

First it was my turn. I was happy about this! I think I'm getting a bit more dignified looking lately, don't you agree? I think it's the grey coming out on my muzzle.

Img_2236 Img_2237

Luna and Spot were checking out some people walking past:

Img_2260

Mum did some close-ups of Luna. I kind of envy her cool coloured hair sometimes. I wish I was a blue doggy too!

Img_2312

People do say we look good together though. And it's kind of nice to be different.

I lay down next to Luna while she sunk her teeth into the local newspaper.

Img_2367

Reflecting on the day's news:

Img_2369

We watched some birdies fly over:

Img_2377

Then we spotted Spot! (hehe, I'm so funny)

Img_2403_2

I think he felt a bit left out, so I invited him to come over and sit with us.

Img_2408

I said sorry for leaving him out.

Img_2270

I like it when we have friends over to visit! It's lucky that Mum and Dad have lots of friends with doggies, so we get to meet new friends and catch up with old friends all the time!

Img_2094

Oh, and if you want to see when me and Spot first met, you have to check out our old blog! See the Party Time post here.
